Back in 2007, we debuted the Roaring Toyz Project H bike. That Honda CBR1000RR was different than any other custom we’d produced, and we proved it by taking it out and flogging it on the racetrack. It’s no surprise that the Project H bike spawned a lot of imitators from other builders, but nothing can live up to Roaring Toyz quality and engineering.
Jeff Marrow had that in mind when he saw the Project H bike and contacted us about customizing his 2006 Honda CBR1000RR. He wanted that same blend of style, performance and racing heritage.
“When I walked in the door I saw that Honda he was building. I was floored by it,” Jeff says, referring to Roaring Toyz owner Robert Fisher. “I got to know Bobby personally and he’s a really down to earth guy. He started in a garage, and he’s gone from there.”
Jeff’s Honda is turbo-charged and features a custom Roaring Toyz exhaust dump can. A Power Commander allowed us to tune the high-horsepower beast to perfection.
In the looks department, Jeff’s CBR1000RR has a 240 rear held in place by a Gregg’s Customs single-sided swingarm, which gives the Honda an extra two inches of stretch. The wheels are Performance Machine’s Torque Contrast Cuts, capped with Pirelli Diablo tires.
Custom touches add to the Honda’s racing look, including a Hot Bodies undertail, Sato Racing rearsets and frame sliders (just in case), and Yana Shiki adjustable billet clutch and brake levers. Other mods are the billet custom fork and yoke caps, Roaring Toyz Arrow Point bar ends, a clear clutch cover and custom-covered seats.
After doing all of that to Jeff’s bike, we thought it was finished. So did Jeff. We were both wrong. He recently brought the Honda back to Roaring Toyz for a custom paint job, which was laid down by Paul Wong of Aruba.
“I didn’t want to mess with the factory look when it was new, but now it’s time for a change,” Jeff says.
We’d say that Jeff is finished customizing his CBR1000RR, but we know better now. And Jeff’s bike is proof that having a custom sportbike doesn’t mean you have to give up performance and rideability. Whether you’re riding down Main Street in Daytona or cranked over through the mountain twisties, you can look good with a Roaring Toyz custom.
